The Best Lightscribe DVD Burner

There are many DVD burners out on the market today, but the offerings from Lightscribe consistently get great reviews.  I have tried many a Lightscribe DVD burner, but for me there is only one that stands above the rest and that is the LiteON LH-20A1H.  This burner literally has every feature you could possible imagine and has been able to handle anything I have thrown at it.

The Lightscribe DVD Burner LiteON  LH-20A1H

This LiteOn Lightscribe DVD burner is not a portable DVD burner, but rather an internal one that connects up to your mother board through an available IDE port.  It is a half have unit capable of reading writing to just about an DVD or CD ROM including double layer DVD’s.  This unit uses SMART BURN to avoid buffer underun errors and automatically adjusts writing strategy and running OPC to provide the best burn quality.  The SMART-X function adjust data extraction to a fastest allowable speed according to both data request rate from host and disk quality, ensuring that your burn will complete and no data will be lost.

The Lightscribe DVD burner also includes an ABS system to reduce vibration and noise during recording and reading making this drive ideal to use for home recordings as well as simple disk production.  It also has a host of features to support virtually any DVD format available and it has the ability to read any standard compliant CD manufactured today.  These features ensure that no matter what media you need your LiteON Lightscribe DVD burner will be able to get the job done.

The most important feature of the Lightscribe DVD burner is that it can write labels to the CD’s and DVD’s.  The Lightscribe feature means that you will never have to use your pen again to label your disks.   It will use the same laser that writes to the CD to inscribe the outside with a label that can be as complex as you want.  These labels will come out crisp and true while be very easy to add onto almost and DVD or CD.

As you can see there are many features of the LiteON Lightscribe DVD burner that make it a must have for any DVD enthusiast.  The rich feature set means that you will have exactly what you need at your fingertips and be able to compete any project put in front of you.  The LiteON product line has always been noted for its reliability and this drive is no exception.  If you are looking for simply the best Lightscribe DVD burner on the market, the LiteON one is the one to get.

The Best USB DVD Burner

I have used many a USB DVD burner and found some to be adequate and others to be just horrible.  Until recently I never thought that I would find one that would be able to compete with internal burners.   While the Lightscribe DVD burner is very solid, I have found that the MegaSTOR Triple format MD16X is the best USB DVD burner that money can buy.  It has a rich feature set and its performance will rival any internal burner you can find.

Why The MegaSTOR Triple Format MD16X Is The Best

This USB DVD burner boasts a rich feature set that includes the ability to work with both Macs and PCs through USB and Firewire ports.  It also includes a multi-media software package that is completely compatible with both operating systems.  It can burn, play or rewrite almost any disk type. In addition the software provided can edit all sorts of media including sound, video and photos.  The reason it is capable of this is because the USB DVD burner has a 2MB buffer that allows you to edit and work with complex files with no slow down in performance.

The MegaSTOR USB DVD burner supports any single or double layer DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, CD-R, or CD-RW media.   The software that comes with the drive allows you to convert LPs and tapes to WMA or MP3s while also being able to capture, edit, and burn music CDs.  You can also do back ups through the drag and drop features making your daily back ups very easy and secure.

The best feature however is the device’s speed.  It boasts a 16x DVD writer that allows you to write single layers DVDS at 16 times speed.  You can also write dual layers at 8x which is comparable to most internal drives.  The only slow performance is when you copy a DVD to a DVD-R DL disk which it runs at 6x, still a very respectable speed.  Everything other than this functions at the maximum read, write, and rewrite speeds available.

Another great feature of this burner is its price.  It is far and away much cheaper than any other USB DVD burners that operate at its speed.  It carries a two year warranty so you know that the system will last and that you can rely on it for everyday use.  I have been using mine daily for a couple months now and have had no problems and no slow downs.
